Big Blast Update

Rockets are ordered! Yeahhh. Kits are $10 each - includes the rocket, 1 A motor, and 2 C motors. I will have extra motors of you need to buy more. Same as last year, $2/ea.

Confirmation that Big Blast is March 13th. We are planning on camping overnight, so bring cold weather gear if you are going to stay. This will be Family camping, so ALL SCOUTS MUST HAVE A PARENT.

I will finalize the caravan plans with the Troop and let the den leaders know the details.

See you all at the Blue and Gold.

Happy Birthday, Scouting

Hey guys. I hope everything is going well for you. I missed the last pack meeting because I was in Florida with my family doing the Disney tourist thing. I did get a little bit of "scouting" done as well, as I was able to identify some of the different wildlife in the area, including Armadillos and Alligators. Very cool animals.

So, this year is the 100th anniversary of Scouting in America. As we do every year, we'll be celebrating the anniversary of scouting at our Blue and Gold Dinner on the 22nd of this month. If you haven't already signed up, let me or your den leader know that you will be attending. We will be having spaghetti specially made by one of our resident chefs, as well as our traditional cake decorating competition. We'll also have a bunch of awards to give out, including some rank badges (way to go!), and will have some "entertainment" and story telling. I might even try to pull off a magic trick. All this for only $5 per person.

Looking ahead, the Big Blast Rocket launch is coming up next month. I'm ordering rockets, so if you want one, let me know. Price will probably be around $8 for a rocket kit and 3 engines, but I won't know for sure until I order them.

That's all I have for now. I'm waiting for my plane to board so I can fly away on a business trip. I'll see you all at the B&G Dinner. Keep doing your best.

Pack Hike at North Etiwanda Preserve

Hey guys. It's Saturday, and that means only one more day before our glorious Christmas vacations are officially over. So sad. BUT - that also means we're back into the swing of things. We have a lot to do this year, including Blue and Gold Dinner, Big Blast Rocket Launch, Pine Car Derby, and some outdoor activities.

Our next pack activity will be on January 9th. We will be meeting at North Etiwanda Preserve at 10:00 and hiking around the 3.5 mile loop. We should be finishing up right around lunch time, so feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with your family. The trail has some rocks on it, and some parts of it are steep, so bring sturdy shoes. Also, bring water and sun protection. Before we start, we will go over our outdoor code. I also have an idea for a fun and informative game, so bring your outdoor knowledge with you.

See you next week.

November update and Pack Meeting

Greetings, Scouts and Scouters.

I hope you and your families are doing well. Personally, it's been a tough few weeks, but the holidays are upon us, and that always brings cheer, even in the midst of tragedy.

We had an awesome time at Webelos Woods. We earned more awards, and did our first overnight campout with the Webelos. And for the first time in pack history - 100% attendance. You should all be proud.

So, it's about time for another pack meeting. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've all been up to. Our next meeting will be November 30th at the school, 7:00 as usual. See you there.

Next month, we'll be hanging out with the residents at Atria Del Rey. Tentatively scheduled for Monday, Dec 14th. I haven't been able to confirm the date yet, but I'll let you all know as soon as I do.

For now, eat lots of turkey. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

October Pack Meeting

Hey Guys

This is a reminder that our next Pack meeting is Monday, October 26th, 7:00 at the Hermosa School Media Center. See you there.

Webelos - I have the sign up package for Webelos Woods next month. For parents that were wondering, packs need to bring their own tents, food, and water, and camping equipment. I have some stuff that we can use. We're camping in a field, and each Pack gets it's own space. We'll talk at the next Den Meeting, but if you want to go, let me know this week.

Later.
